"I can't remember when my child was that small!"
This is what I hear so many parents say when they look at
other people's newborns and babies. That's why
it's so important to preserve those times in your child's life
with beautiful photographs. You can't stop your children from
growing but you can remember them in every detail.
My family and children's photography style places a very strong
emphasis on the 'natural'. I don't put babies in plant pots, pearls, tiaras or slings. I aim to bring out your families' personalities and relationships with each other by joining you in your natural environment and then capturing the magic that inevitably follows.
As a mum of a beautiful little boy, I understand how difficult it can be to simply leave the house at times. So, I can either come to your home (good for babies) or we can even travel to a favourite park (great for toddlers).
Couples wanting to capture fun, artistic, beautiful images are also welcome to get in touch. It can be a great way to commemorate your engagement or to simply record your feelings for each other without saying a word.
But maybe you're none of the above and just want some striking portraits of yourself. Maybe you're a Mum that deserves a treat. Maybe you'd like to treat your Mum. Whoever you are, I would love to create some magic memories with you.
about shannon
Originally from Perth, I moved to London before settling in beautiful Melbourne and buckling down to a Media Studies degree. Graduating with distinction in 2003, I happily worked in Radio, including ABC Radio for about 6 years. I loved radio but ...... I felt there was something more for me to do.
My growing interest in photography had been, until then, just a small seed. It started to flower in early 2007 but exploded into full-bloom after my son was born in 2008. I had tried many things in the search for my language but when the planets aligned and Shannon McDonald Photography was born I discovered that "something more". That elusive "thing" that I want to do for the rest of my life.
And I do, and I will.
